Real stories. Real perspectives.

A space for international students to share their experiences in China.

Meet Stella Kamhanya

Hi, I’m Stella Kamhanya , from the warm heart of Africa, Malawi! I’m currently pursuing Master’s in International Management at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) in Beijing. I love music, art, exploring new places, learning languages, discovering different cultures, and watching and capturing sunrises and sunsets.

China has always fascinated me because of its blend of tradition, technology, and rapid development. I wanted to experience the culture beyond what we see from the outside, learn from a different perspective, and challenge myself to grow both personally and academically.

Honestly, I love how convenient life in China can be! From the metro system and delicious food to the aunties dancing and exercising in parks every morning, there’s always something interesting to see. I also love how a simple walk around the city can turn into a little cultural adventure.

Two years ago, I might not have imagined how much this journey would mean to me. Today, I’m Aicha, a student from Morocco pursuing my master’s degree in Beijing, the capital of China. Living and studying here has been a beautiful journey of discovering a new culture, meeting wonderful people, and growing both personally and academically. For me, China is not just a place to study, but a place where I’m creating memories, learning new things, and becoming a little more myself every day.

Meet Simrina 🇪🇹

What surprises you about China?

What surprised me at first was that I can do almost anything from my phone, from ordering food to shopping online. It’s so convenient!

What was the most memorable experience you had in China?

My most memorable experience was traveling to another city and spending three days with a Chinese family. I ate what they ate and lived their everyday life with them, and it completely changed the way I see Chinese people and their lifestyle.
